Our Home IT Safety & Accessibility Report is a practical technology-focused review. It is designed to help older people, families, carers, and support networks understand how technology in the home may be safer, easier to use, more reliable, and more accessible.
1. Scope of the report
The report may consider:
- phone, tablet, computer, printer, smart TV, and internet setup
- Wi-Fi coverage and reliability
- device placement and charging setup
- cable clutter and trip-related technology hazards
- accessibility settings on devices
- emergency contact access on phones
- scam and cybersecurity risk indicators
- backup and account recovery readiness
- smart home devices, where relevant
- communication tools such as video calling, messaging, captions, hearing support, and reminders
- practical technology recommendations
2. What the report is not
The report is not:
- a medical assessment
- an occupational therapy assessment
- a falls risk assessment
- a dementia assessment
- a clinical care assessment
- an aged care funding assessment
- an NDIS assessment
- a building inspection
- an electrical safety inspection
- a fire safety audit
- a legal, financial, or insurance assessment
- a guarantee that the home is safe or accessible
3. Observational only
Our report is based on what we can reasonably observe at the time of the visit and within the agreed scope.
We do not move heavy furniture, open walls, inspect electrical wiring, test structural elements, or assess matters requiring licensed trades or clinical professionals.
Conditions may change after the visit.
4. Recommendations
Recommendations are practical suggestions only.
You are responsible for deciding whether to act on them.
Some recommendations may require help from:
- a licensed electrician
- occupational therapist
- builder or handyperson
- aged care provider
- medical professional
- internet or telco provider
- cybersecurity professional
- device manufacturer or software provider
5. Electrical safety
We do not perform electrical work.
Any electrical installation, repair, power point work, hard-wiring, or electrical safety concern must be handled by a licensed electrician.
6. Health, mobility, and personal safety
If there are concerns about falls, mobility, memory, medication, personal care, neglect, abuse, or clinical safety, you should contact an appropriate health professional, aged care provider, advocacy service, or emergency service.

We do not guarantee that a person will be safe, that falls or emergencies will be prevented, or that devices, alarms, apps, internet services, or monitoring systems will always work.
